Beach Party at 53 degrees!!! 28.9.06

Beach Party
at
53 Degrees!!!
Started the day going to my introduction talks for the start of my second year for Law and Spanish, was great to see my mates again, was great talking to them finding out what we had been upto over the summer! I was a wee bit tired though, as the night before was Tokes night, so you know what i mean when i say i was tired! So a nine o'clock start wasn't brillant! Then i returned to the flat ate, then Ryan, Matt, Jarv, sara, Danielle and Hannah went to town, the girls left us at around 3.30pm, so us lads did what was needed, went to a pub, the black bull, for a cracking pint!!! Then we decided we were hungry, but food wasn't being served anymore, so off to Roper and their we stayed till about 8pm, ate a scream burger, not with the masses of chips it promised! lol! Kurt a mate of Ryans joined us for a few stella's, then we were off to return and get ready for 53, Then back out, again, Black Bull again, downed a few JD's then off we went to meet the girls at Source! Was a great night, there were hot tubs, great music and fantastic drinks! Everyone had a cracking time!!! Apart from having no voice, glad we went!!!
THANKX!

BLACKOUT Gig!!!!! 11.9.06

FUCKING AWESOME!!!

A talented bunch of lads, who's hard work had payed off!!!
Cracking Perfromance!!!
The night started by Ryans parents taking us to the venue, and giving me a guided tour around York, on the way! When ariving at the venue, we discovered it was a dry bar, a concept unknown to Ryan and my self! lol!!
They we surposed to be on third, but due to a band called Devlin, and the fuss they made, Blackout were promoted to second spot!!!
A cracking performance and guys the most proffessional and original!!!

As tradition goes, when the night was over, it wasn't for the Bolosh and Kavanagster!! Ryan took me to some typical places, such as the Sam Smiths Pub, A place which only serves Sam Smiths larger, stouts and even Sam Smiths spirits. Had a nice barmaid too, (hope she liked her spring roles lol), after a few beers we moved to the second establiment, where a few more beers were sampled, then it was time for the JD's, Ryan also took a fancy to a nice lass with a tattoo, and to be honest she liked him, but she was stook with a prat, so nothing happened, but hey dude, she wasn't the last of the night lol! After Ryan had talked to a mate he bumped into, we moved to the Gallery, i'm told one of the top Nightclubs in York, and you know what it lives up to its reputation, lol!!!
Nice birds, good dancing and fantastic music!

A special mention goes out to our new friend Audrey, Darling you made the Night special!!! Every time i see a women in Devil's horns again, i'll think of you!!!
Was 4 am in the morning and we are walking round this fantastic city, looking for a taxi, after our search we found one to take us back to Tadcaster, we were dropped off at Tadkebab and walked backed to Ryans!
Top night thankx dude!
In conclusion, Blackout are awesome!!! Folks spread the word, If you have chance to see Blackout, Take it, you won't be disapointed!!

Last Day! Hostal Victoria!

Leaving Day!!!

Well folks it what you've all been waiting for, the final installment to Madrid trip by the Bolosh and Kavanaghster!!!...Last morning sharing a room with the 'Girie blanco', and we hadn't started packing untill now, Not a problem really, only involved throughing our things back into the cases, well i say not a problem, for Ryan maybe...me on the other hand, wasn't so quite straight forward, as for some reason i cudn't close my case, to full, i don't think it could have been because of the Callos, Fuet, asparagus and gifts i bought!!! lol! After sitting and jumping on the case, and still with no success, The kavanaghster calmly walked over, and shut it!!! Clever guy!! Don't tell him that though! lol! Then we were off, last minute shopping, and to be honest, i had no more room for any more gifts!!! lol! But maybe enough for just one, my Real Madrid shirt, with the 'Bolosh 20' on the back!!! Looks bloody fantastic if i do say so myself! lol! Then back to the Hostal we went, took some last minute pictures of the room and views, then off to the office to pay, a very nice women, I spoke in spanish and Ryan in german, so we managed to get by! lol! Then we left and said our good byes to the Puerto del Sol, well we said, 'Hasta Leugo'! Caught our trusty friend the number 53 bus to Anas. We were to have lunch at Anas before she would take us to the airport, (Thankx Ana)! We had another mouth watering lunch made by her mum, unfortunately Sara couldn't join us, but we completely understood why!!! And hey Sara we'll be seeing you again in two weeks!!! Had a nice conversation with her on the phone instead and thanked her for her helpfullness and for being a top class bird on our visit! After lunch Anas mum had given us some chorizo and other spanish treats for our families! As our trip wouldn't have been half as good, without the help and advise we recieved by Anas family, Ryan and i decided to buy a small token of our gradtitude, a bottle of faustino 1 and some chocolates. Not much, but we wanted to show we had really apreciated their help. Then after some goodbyes, we left for the airport. Before checking in Ana had told us of a service the airport provided for cases that looked ready to explode! lol A huge wrapping machine!! That did the job, it certainly held the case together! lol! Checked in and then came time to say final goodbye to Ana. Difficult as when saying goodbye in Preston we knew in the back of our minds, we knew we would see her in the summer! But now, i can only say i hope to see you very soon! We will all miss your company!!! And you are always welcome in Preston!!! Well to finish the entry... our flight was on time and we boarded, that was the end, time began now to relect on all our memories of the trip and the laughs we had with the girls! And as tradition went, Two JD's and one coke were ordered! And one final purchase, my little gadget, an alchol tester (which will get much use in Preston hey guys! lo), and as expected, me and ryan Failed with great success! lol! With great coincidence, i met my spanish tutor from college on the plane, Deb. Was really nice to tell her what i was upto at uni and so on! We collected our baggage and went to our parents, we said our goodbyes and thanked each other for the trip, Ryan dude this bits for you, you were great company and a great laugh, never a dull moment, was a pleasure dude! Thankx! Was over, the five days had flown by, home we went, life back to normal, but with one little difference, the memories of Madrid swimming through our minds!

Una noche maravillosa!!!!

'Girre hole'

Morning after Malibu shortage began in Madrid!

'Morning dude...Morning fella, ...Your head banging...YES mate!' Malibu's are easy going in... but on way out... WATCH OUT! Lol! Little sleep and was nearly time to meet girls, as you can imagen that wasn't going to happen for the time we said! lol! After a few texts we had managed to get an extra 30 minutes, just enough time for us to drag our sorry selfs out of bed and showered. Well i knew it wasn't the best morning i had had, as i slipped and caused a bullet wound shape to the only part of my body uninjured, my left leg! lol I was living up to the nickname Ryan had given me 'Disaster Dave! Rather suited me i think! Summed my actions up well anyway! Back on metro, not much chat, just trying to remember to breath! lol! Met the girls at SpringField, a cloths shop, walked round and then entered one of the many Corte en ingles's in Madrid, it looks like every block has one! lol! We bought some things then walked Sara to the metro stop, as she was having lunch with her family. Ryan, Ana and me then caught our trusty friend the number 53 bus to Anas, for lunch! As you can imagen still wasn't feeling great, but thanks to Anas mum her suggestion of having a swim was perfect and did the job! However, ice cold doesn't say how cold the pool was, all i can say is...no funciona!!! Let you guys make your own mind up on that one! lol! Refreshed and more awake, we had another five star lunch, fillete con aroz! We again enjoyed a good time and laughed with Anas family! Another episode of perdidos was watched, just what we wanted to watch the day before going on a plane! (only joking Ana), For us this was already a fantastic day, couldn't have asked for more, but guys as i have said before, the best was yet to come...!!! We returned to the hostal on the number 53 again, was packed folks, we stood up and at one point an old women pushed me down the bus! Strong spanish women, i'll tell ya! And what i can only describe as a wierd sensation i experienced on the bus! Ryan mate think you are the only one who will truelly know what happend, i would say but minors maybe reading this lol! Ten minutes before meeting girls, mad dash, wash and change, then out again, met the girls, and folks they looked good that evening! We then walked round the puerto del sol and Plaza Mayor, the girls were looking for a restaurant Ana's brother Juan had recommended! Unfortunately it was closed, but the second on the list was open, and luckily for us, i think it was a good choice, sampled some fantastic food and wine, the girls were laughing and i was very happy to see them enjoying themselves, It was mainly due to Ryan, good job man! We had decided to have desert at VIP's, we had great laughs, helados y cervezas for us, hey man! Time came to say nite to Sara, wasn't nice having to put an end to the evening, after saying good nite to Sara, Ryan, Ana and Me went for a walk round Plaza Espana, before getting a taxi for Ana. It was weird saying good bye that nite for me, as i relised that this wasn't going to happen again for a while, the four of us together, well the five of us...not forgetting Matt! On the way home, we did what Brits did, crossed the road looking the wrong way, thinking we were in England, so thanks to Ryan, i misted a close call with maybe a sixth, seventh and maybe eigth injury of the trip! Thankx man! Back to Puerto del Sol and we decided one last drink, so a mexican bar we went... Nice birds and great music!!! Shame we were knackered from the nite before! lol Back we went to the Hostal Victoria, MP3 on, few pictures taken from the balcony and a close chat, then bed! I've got to say, but can't say for the others, i really enjoyed that evening, was with the people i really respect and in a place i hope to live one day! A nite that will be remembered for a very long time to come in the future!

Day 4: Half way through!

Early, well.. quite early, we decided to get up earlier than usual to enable us to have breakfast before visiting the palace again. As asual we got ready and then made the journey to a famous cafe know for its deliouse churros con chocolate! But as our luck went, it wasn't open for breakfast only in the afternoons and evenings, well we weren't going to wait, as typical British blokes, we needed food in our stomachs to soak up the alchol swimming around! lol! so Cafe y Te it was a chain of cafes known in spain. We had mini sandwichs, i mean mini, maybe just three mouth fulls, but very good! (Ryan remember redecorating a certain room in there? lol). We then paid and walked to the palace, seeing it the second time doesn't lessen its effect, still the same impact as seeing it for the first time! We had decided to take the tour round the royal apartments, and what a good choice, for only 9 euros, we had a 90 minute tour with an English speaking guide, (But Ana y Sara, not as good as you!) However, she was a lovely lass to look at! lol! Before the tour began we had around 30 minutes to walk around parts of the palace, such as the Royal pharmacy, armaries and court yard. All magnifisant! It was then time for the tour we met at the arranged place and placed our blue stickers on to tell the world that we were 'girres' lol...as if they couldn't tell anyway! lol! We were off, the royal rooms were amazing, very interesting, and i'm glad we went! Now we were hungry, it was early afternoon and we were peckish, so back the the churros place, and you no what...it was open, our luck had changed lol! We sampled them and boy was it worth waiting for! we had both decided to try a siesta, as we weren't going to meet the girls till around 6pm, we thought we had time, however, thinks changed and we ended up meeting Ana earlier, as Sara was enjoyig the last of the sales, So this left us with just under an hour, so back to the hostal...Siesta time, 15 minutes, if it works for Ana it must work for us, on the way to the hostal i dropped off to a pharmacy to get some cream for the dry spot on my face as a result of my two hour bleed lol! We think somewhere in the translation and the use of my spanish, we got mixed up lol, i walked out of the pharmacy with a cream for herpes! well as one can imagen, i wasn't very sure what to think, and i bet you can predict ryans reaction when i told him... Must have been funiest thing i had said since...(Beckyjacket was a bulldog!) lol.. We laughed and i placed this cream on my face, praying it was ok!!! Half an hour left till meetig Ana at Retiro, ZZZ...ZZZ...ZZZ, Sleep well i woudn't call it sleep just a chill out! Then off to Ana, rushing, as we were running a little late, but as things turned out it wouldn't have mattered if we had got there on time, as we were at the wrong enterance! lol! Once we had met Ana in the centre of the park, we walked aroud the beautiful park and looked for a good place to eat the boccadillos Anas mum had made! (Not dry.. hey Ryan!) We chilled out under the clear sky and warm sun, then went to meet the rest of the girls, Sara, Belin and Lori, but while on route to meeting the girls we went to the national geographic centre, another facsinating place. We met the girls, and had a few more laughs, and the classic line of the holiday was 'Donde puedo comprar gas butano?' Ryan was a hit, the girls were laughing! Well done mate, You made them smile!!! We then walked round some nice shops, then left the girls, they had sent us on the metro, with only a vaige idea of where we were going, only joking it was easy, i was hoping to get lost to make an adventure out of it, but hey, theres still time! lol We followed the same routine, got changed and went back out, enjoyed a great meal and a few more cervezas!!! Ryan had said lets make a nite of it, only here for short time, and folks, we did, we entered many clubs and in one, el pirate (hope thats the name Ana) we drank them out of malibu, two bottles to be precise! lol Danced...drank...danced...drank...heard bell ring thought was last orders...drank more....heard bell again...drank...danced...bell yet again...now how long does last orders go for in spain me and Ryan were asking each other, turns out that the bar man was just ringing the bell to the music... what a dumb pair of english girres! We stayed past opening hours and waited to meet the barman in a bar he had said would still be open, and folks.. was busy mega busy, now we're talking 3am mayby, however, as usual fashion the bolosh was weakening and so returned to the hostal, Ryan stayed and made friends with some locals and returned shortly, (Chinese guys ryan, Remember for preston! lol) i decided to be sick.. nice thought i know...but it enabled me to wake up easily next morning! lol Quoting again a Yorkshire dude i remember bumping into in Madrid 'Cracking nite!' Stay tuned people the best is yet to come!
